May is Supervised Visitation Awareness Month
The Wellstar Family Visitation Center Promotes Safe Family Connections

May is recognized globally as Supervised Visitation Awareness Month, shining a light on
the critical services that help ensure safe family time during difficult transitions. The
Wellstar Family Visitation Center, a program of The Children’s Haven, is proud to be
part of this movement as a nationally recognized provider of supervised visitation
services. The center is bringing separated families safely together.
The Wellstar Family Visitation Center is an active member of the Supervised Visitation
Network (SVN)—a coalition of over 800 providers worldwide. Providing a safe, home-
like setting for supervised visits between children and family members, the facility
includes two visitation rooms as well as a backyard playground designed to support
positive interaction. Last year alone, the program facilitated more than 1,100 supervised
visits for families impacted by foster care or court involvement. Over 650 hours of parent
coaching took place to support families, and 146 children were served by the Wellstar
Family Visitation Center in 2024.
As part of the awareness campaign, community members are encouraged to wear an
orange ribbon throughout the month of May and to join in Wear Orange Day on May 14, 2025.
Orange was chosen by SVN to represent safety, drawing attention to the
thousands of children and families in need of these vital services.
The mission of The Children’s Haven is to promote the health and happiness of children
impacted by abuse and neglect. The nonprofit organization is located at 1083 Marietta
Hwy, Canton, GA.
