The Children’s Haven Extends Gratitude to Cobb EMC for Continued Support and Sponsorship in 2024
Canton, GA – The Children’s Haven is thrilled to announce its heartfelt gratitude to the Cobb EMC Foundation for their generous sponsorship and unwavering support of its programs throughout 2024. As a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families in need, The Children’s Haven relies on the contributions of community-minded organizations like Cobb EMC to provide essential services and life-changing programs.
Cobb EMC’s commitment to strengthening our community is evident through their ongoing partnership with The Children’s Haven, helping to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed, grow, and thrive. In 2024, the Cobb EMC Foundation’s support directly impacted all of the programs of The Children’s Haven, building happy, healthy children. The mission of the Cobb EMC Foundation is to carefully assess the financial requests of charitable organizations, and to apply collective wisdom to the allocation of available funds for the benefit of the community and the members they serve. Funds for the foundation come from generous Cobb EMC members who opt to round their bills up each month through Operation Round Up. The funds are used to support local nonprofits with outreach programs that benefit members within Cobb EMC’s five county service area.
The Children’s Haven, located in Canton, Georgia, is home to four support and prevention programs, educating, empowering and strengthening children and families. The Children’s Haven served over 500 children in 2024 through the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cherokee County, Wellstar Family Visitation Center, Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Cherokee and the Chin Up Mentorship program. With the support from the Cobb EMC Foundation, The Children’s Haven has been able to meet the growing need of the community, offering additional support and prevention services for families and training and empowering an increased number of community volunteers to advocate for children experiencing foster care through the CASA program, providing safe, supervised visitation services and parent coaching, offering bilingual, in-home parent education and life skills and expanding an on-site mentorship program for at-risk youth. In addition, The Children’s Haven is home to an extensive Caregivers’ Closet, providing direct support to foster families and relative caregivers.
Marcie Smith, Executive Director of The Children’s Haven shared, “The Cobb EMC Foundation has been a tremendous supporter of our mission at The Children’s Haven. They’ve come alongside us in 2024, just as in years past, to ensure that children and families have access to supportive services they need. We’re grateful for their generous support and for their partnership in supporting child victims of abuse and neglect.”
