We’re Hiring: Visitation Program Manager

General:

 

The Visitation Program Manager is responsible for the daily coordination of supervised visitation service provisions. Primary responsibilities include training, scheduling, and supervising of Visitation Family Support Specialists, processing intake with non-custodial parents, coordinating all visit-related activities, including scheduling and supervising visits, reporting, and planning and evaluating service provision. The Executive Director supervises the Visitation Program Manager.

 

Duties:

  • Supervise and schedule work hours for Visitation Family Support Specialists. Ensure that Family Support Specialists are scheduled to provide adequate supervision for all visits.
  • Provide ongoing training, support, and feedback to ensure that Family Support Specialists have the skills needed to perform job duties.
  • Process new referrals and facilitate intake interviews with visiting participants. Provide a copy of the visitation policy to all parties and ensure that appropriate releases are signed.
  • Provide visitation schedule to DFCS case managers.
  • Communicate with appropriate parties, including non-custodial parents, foster parents, and transporters, to coordinate visit day/time.
  • Ensure direct supervision of child and non-custodial parents and siblings during visits.
  • Ensure the visit observation form and all reports are completed for each visit.
  • Intervene when necessary, during visits.
  • Provide direct supervision for 2-5 visits per week.
  • Assist children as needed during visits (ex., Snacks, restroom breaks).
  • Ensure the visit facility is clean after every visit, inside and/ or outside. Toys shall be neatly stored, and all trash should be placed in appropriate containers.
  • Ensure written summaries of visitation observations and activities are delivered to referral sources and parties to the case as needed.
  • Notify DFCS case managers of any concerns as issues arise during visits.
  • Ensure/ provide testimony as needed for court hearings.
  • Maintain case files for all assigned children, including copies of all forms completed for each family and/or visit.


Other duties:

 

  • Perform annual evaluations of visitation programs by gathering information from all relevant parties, including the court, child/ren, families, foster parents, DFCS, etc.
  • Attend training, as needed and available, to keep updated on child welfare issues, laws, and policy.
  • Serve as liaison between the agency, local constituent groups, and community organizations.
  • Assist with tasks associated with fundraisers.
  • Work in cooperation with the Executive Director.
  • Maintain good working relationships with local DFCS, attorneys, judges, and other agencies and/or individuals inherent to the Supervised Visitation program.
  • Participate in and represent the agency at local community events as requested
  • Assist the Executive Director with monthly and yearly grant reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as needed/requested.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field. Extensive experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Two years of experience required (volunteer or paid) in at least several areas: social services, child advocacy, volunteer supervision, training, non-profit management, volunteer CASA or guardian ad litem, child welfare, education, mental health, or parenting.
